Home EV chargers: what you need to know

Thinking about a home charger for your electric car? Here's what's involved.

Home EV chargers: what you need to know

Can your supply handle it?

Most homes can take a 7kW charger, but we always check your supply and fuse board first. Sometimes a consumer unit upgrade is needed.

Where should it go?

Usually on an outside wall close to where you park. We'll find the neatest cable route from your fuse board.

Grants and smart chargers

SEAI grants have been available for home chargers. Smart chargers let you schedule charging for cheaper night-rate electricity.

How long does it take?

A standard installation is usually done in half a day, including testing and certification.
